Honda Closeratio gears (2, 3, 4) 5MT

Japanese 5-speed NSX are equipped with a gearset that offers tighter 2-4 gear ratios versus the Acura NSX and certain European cars.

This gearing was also frequently used in European cars but NOT all! Honda only installed these in cars destined for mountainous European countries.

The "Acura" gearing results in shift points in the lower gears that places the resulting engine speed below the optimal power point.

The JDM short gears allow for cleaner shifts with out falling out of V-Tec, acceleration in midrange improves considerably and the overall usable power band is much greater.

Down shifting is also more pleasant  and aggressive.
