OEM Honda conversion towards 99-05 LMA's
NSX buildt before 1999 have a LMA in a piston design lubricated by engine oil. Over time, contaminants cause this piston to seize resulting in the VTEC rocker ticking when not in VTEC (while idling).
The loose VTEC rocker could damage the VTEC lobe and loud tapping sound while idling is very annoying if not embarrassing.
This is a known problem, which all NSX 1990-1999 will suffer from, Honda tried to remedy it with a different hydro lift LMA in the mid nineties but that wasn't sufficient
Honda addressed the issue fully in 2000 making a mechanical spring type lifter.
